The scenography of the errant pilgrim

The river connected the town center to the countryside with a relationship of continuity that is difficult to perceive nowadays. A unified and harmonic vision let the territory and the landscape be grasped as an unicum of human elements, materials, naturals: houses, trees, waterways, hills, men and animals, colors and shapes live together in a relationship that appeared less fragmented. The bond between the waters of the Metauro, the stones of the medieval buildings and the opening of the landscape towards Urbino, they surely weaved the perfect scenography for the externalization of the feelings of pain and fear of an errant pilgrim as Torquato Tasso was.
